“Tomblin’s Two-Cents Tuesday”
(Trying out a Newsletter… it’s all a work in process. Just figuring it out as I go.)
2 Quotes, 2 Lessons, 2 Questions
You can take the Two-Cents or leave it.
Two cents isn’t much.
But if this adds even the smallest value to you (a little richer, a little wiser) then that has made all the difference.
And, who knows, over time, your actions, investments, and mindset will compound. And it will be remarkable to see how far you’ve come if you start your improvement journey today.
Two quotes I have been pondering this week:
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Love the life you’ve imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.”
-Henry David Thoreau
“If you think you can or can’t, you’re right.”
-Henry Ford
Two Lessons I’ve learned this week:
Having the self-talk, perception or attitude of, “I can never do that” actually limits your ability to do so. You will then see all the reasons why you couldn’t do it and see all your limitations. If you believe in yourself, you see the opportunities in front of you that the world is presenting to you.
I’ve always secretly wanted to get into acting. I’ve always believed acting was for those people who had lucky breaks or for those child prodigies that have been acting from such a young age. I now realize if you have something you want to pursue, you can still do it. After believing the possibility I CAN become an actor in my life, I have taken a few acting classes, signed with an acting agency and have booked a few roles with student films and supporting /background roles with feature films. Before, I believed that is just a pipe dream. Now, I believed it is possible and made it into reality.
Two questions for you:
It’s never too late to give up your dreams. Why not start today?
What is a small action that you can do today to take the first steps towards a goal or something you’ve always wanted to achieve?
Until next week,
Alex R Tomblin
