2 Quotes, 2 Lessons, 2 Questions
Two quotes I have been pondering this week:
"You have to finally see your old, limited beliefs for what they are – records of the past – and be willing to let go of them so you can embrace new beliefs about yourself that will help you create a new future."
- You Are the Placebo, Dr. Joe Dispenza
“It gets easier. Every day it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day —that’s the hard part. But it does get easier”
-Running Monkey in Bojack Horseman
Two Lessons I’ve learned this week:
My Grandmama, age 89, broke her hip and said, “A lot of people here (in physical therapy) don’t want to do what the doctor says, but I’ll do what they ask, every time!”
Those elders in physical therapy may have the right to be stubborn and resentful for the work that was prescribed, but because Grandmama willingly did the work, and believed she could recover, she did. How many others could make a recovery with their belief? Not everyone can be so fortunate, but according to Dr. Joe Dispenza, our beliefs and perspective even alter our physical being.
Building a habit isn’t easy. I want to do too many things at once. I’ve learned I must only pick a few that I want to stick with. So far, I have worked out every day in January, and intent to maintain this habit through the year. It’s not, “I don’t have the time.” It’s MAKING THE TIME. “Every day it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it everyday. That’s that hard part. But it does get easier.”
Two questions for you:
What is something that we can give MORE attention to? (Being present, working out, time with loved ones, positive self-talk, etc.)
What is something that we can give LESS attention to? (Drama, negative thoughts, limiting beliefs, etc.)
Until next week,
